Valve is removing the 'beta' tag on Steam Tags, the user-defined categorizing feature for its distribution platform, and rolling out a host of changes for the initiative that has seen four million tags to date.
Valve released the Steam Tags beta in February as a solution to help users find and discover content on Steam. The feature allows users to tag games with genres, themes, attributes or any information they feel relates to a product. A few days later, it received an update to put a stem on users tagging games inappropriately, where the community could downvote tags they deemed offensive/abusive, not appropriate for the product, not helpful or spoiler.
