Spoilers follow for a seven-year-old episode of television, but more specifically for the apparent answer to one of the greatest mysteries in the history of TV.
It has been a question long pondered by mankind -- well, pondered since the final episode of The Sopranos aired in 2007, anyway: Did Tony Soprano die in the last moment of his series finale, “Made in America,” as he munched on onion rings and listened to Journey in Holsten's? Surely the dude in the Members Only jacket took him out just as the camera cut to the black screen that infuriated half the country? Or no! Tony lived, and still lives, and will live forever!
Well, now Sopranos creator David Chase has answered the question, somewhat reluctantly it seems. While talking to Chase, Vox’s Martha P. Nochimson raised the topic:
