5 Things in Costume Quest 2 That Made Me Smile

It’s way too easy to get caught up in the negative aspects of the video game industry. A scary vocal minority can quickly bathe our wonderful pastime in the most awful of lights. So instead of focusing on the terrible, I want to take a break and focus on nice things. Like Costume Quest 2.


I went over the basics of Double Fine’s sequel a few months back. Recently, I got to play an opening chunk of the game. Here are five things about it that made me smile.


The original Costume Quest charmed the heck out of me with its rinky-dink costumes that would transform into awesome imaginary warriors when it came time for battle. Things are the same in the sequel, but this time around, the costumes are even weirder. Case in point: Thomas Jefferson. Evidently the precocious youngsters of the CQ universe are history buffs, as is evident in a costume featuring everyone’s favorite founding father. The costume comes equipped with deadly quills to throw at enemies, and a special attack featuring the devestating Declaration of Independence. Double Fine told me that there would be 11 new costumes in the game, but it's going to be hard to top ol' Tommy J.
