id Software is making changes to Quake Live, the browser-based shooter, in an attempt to expand the game's audience when it releases on Steam, the developer said on the Quake Live blog.
The update will introduce a plethora of changes. There are new control options for players unfamiliar with the classic layout; the heavy machinegun is being introduced, along with damage tweaks to several other weapons; and item respawn times have been unified across all game modes.
One of them ore poignant changes, though, is the introduction of weapon loadouts to select modes, giving players the ability to select a primary and secondary weapon before spawning.
