Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow...
Well well well. I didn't expect the VX gas storyline to continue on into a third episode. Quite the surprise. It doesn't mean that some of the scenes didn't feel extraneous, but I do appreciate the attention given to this one, crucial case. And it allows Odum to remain within the Dante Auerback character a little bit longer.
By extraneous scenes I mean, for example, the "Colonel" talking menacingly to Hubbard - aka Alexander Novelsky. The Colonel is a one-note baddie and Hubbard, while rebellious, is also nothing extraordinary. Plus, there was no consequence for Hubbard breaking free, starting a fire, injuring a guard, and running off with his wife and daughter. Other than the wife getting smacked. The convenient villain "this has been a warning, next time..." tactic is one of my big pet peeves in movies and on TV.
