In a press call with Marvel's executive editor Tom Brevoort and writer Rick Remender, it was announced that Apocalypse will return in issue #4 of this fall's Avengers & X-Men: AXIS event comic.
Apocalypse is arguably the X-Men's most powerful and dangerous villain, and he has been absent in his proper form for years. He currently exists as a teenager named Genesis who attends the Jean Grey School, and is in fear of growing up to become the reviled supervillain. Recently in Uncanny Avengers, also written by Remender, a long-brewing plot line featuring the twin offspring of Apocalypse concluded.
