Tekken 7 game director Katsuhiro Harada has requested fan feedback for a proposed new character.
Harada showed concept art of a new Arab character on Facebook. He asked for feedback from the entire Tekken community, but especially those in Middle Eastern countries. In his request, Harada is careful to point out that the character hasn't been finalized either for inclusion in the game or as a design. He and the design team like the character, but are willing to change or scrap it altogether depending on the reception.
"To be honest, we did have an idea of an Arab fighter since 2008, but since most of the development team members are Japanese and do not know much about the Middle Eastern culture or clothes, we were not able to fully design it back then," he said. "But in recent years I have been visiting places such as Dubai and Saudi Arabia, and many of the development staff members have been learning about Middle Eastern culture and designs."
