The beloved Halo 2 multiplayer ranking system is making its return in Halo: The Master Chief Collection -- and not just for Halo 2's maps.
After their Gamescom press conference, Microsoft and 343 clarified some details about the Master Chief Collection's multiplayer mode. We knew Halo 2's matchmaking system was due for a comeback, but now we know it's extending across the entire MP experience.
That includes all the maps from Halo 1, 3, and 4.
If you don't have fond memories of it, here's why Halo 2's matchmaking system was awesome. The 1-50 scale was simple -- the higher the number, the better you were. The number wasn't based on how long or how often you played, either. It fluctuated constantly based on your wins and losses. Matchmaking felt exceptionally well-tuned as well, providing balanced match after balanced match.
