Eight episodes is a weird length for a season of television. It's not quite as short as the first seasons of, say, The Walking Dead or The Office, but nor is it the standard 10-13 episodes most cable dramas receive. But as much as this season started to drag in the middle, it's probably just as well Dominion didn't wear out its welcome. And the good news is that "Beware Those Closest To You" did offer a pretty satisfying cap to the season. While there were some weak elements and characters who just vanished from the plot without a trace, the writers managed to conclude several season-long character arcs and bring Alex Lannon full circle.
