Amazon is currently not allowing customers to pre-order Blu-ray and DVD copies of upcoming Disney films, including blockbuster movies Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Maleficent.
Home Media Magazine picked up on the Amazon and Disney conflict, as the large online retailer is only allowing users to pre-order Amazon Instant Video versions of big upcoming films, including Muppets Most Wanted and Million Dollar Arm. The lack of pre-order information on physical editions of films can make it difficult for Disney to figure out the demand for upcoming titles.
A similar situation arose earlier this summer between Amazon and Warner Home Video, noted The New York Times, though that conflict has since been resolved. Neither Amazon nor Disney are responding to media requests about the current standoff, however.
