Despite the very fictional nature of a zombie-based apocalypse, Robert Kirkman revels in producing challenges for his characters that are realistic. In the case of issue #124, the challenge is not only the continuing war, but also the ever-insidious foe that is all too common in the horror genre: darkness. With this storyline rapidly coming to a close, Kirkman challenges his characters with the threat of pitch black battles. The result is a fun and exciting issue that keeps things fresh and the story moving.
