With the entire Forever Evil: Blight crossover finally wrapping up, I'm forced to return to the complaint that dominated the early reviews - why did this story need to be so long? There simply isn't enough payoff in Justice League Dark #29 to justify 18 issues of magical battles and John Constantine pining after Zatanna. The core conflict ends with more a whimper than a bang, only to be followed up by a hasty and unnecessary battle between the Justice League Dark and the Sons of Trigon. So much fat could have been trimmed from this story.
