It seems as though Madonna is a jack-of-all-trades -- musician, children’s book author, actress -- and more recently, film director. And now she's set to direct a new film, an adaptation of Ade: A Love Story, the debut novel by Rebecca Walker.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Silver Linings Playbook’s Bruce Cohen and Jessica Leventhal will produce the picture. Cohen is also adapting the graphic novel The Fifth Beatle (which IGN’s Benjamin Bailey reviewed rather favorably).
Ade: A Love Story follows a 19-year-old American student who falls in love with a Muslim man from an island off the coast of Kenya. A screenwriter has not yet been chosen to adapt the book. The film is slated for a 2016 release.
