Sony Pictures presented CinemaCon attendees on Wednesday with an extended look at their upcoming slate of releases, most notably The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and 22 Jump Street.
The studio began and ended their presentation with their slate's strongest-looking entries. They showed roughly 10 minutes of footage from 22 Jump Street, which sees Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum's cops going undercover to bust a college drug ring. The footage began with the duo seeing a counselor to work on their relationship's issues, and closed with a revelatory gag that comes at Hill and Ice Cube's (back as their foul-mouthed lieutenant) expense.
Eric Bana stars in the Screen Gems supernatural thriller Deliver Us From Evil, which comes from director Scott Derrickson (Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose) and purports to be based on real events. Cameron Diaz stars in two upcoming Sony releases, Sex Tape and Annie. The former sees Diaz and her husband played by Jason Segel trying to spice up their hum drum life by making a sex tape, which is then unintentionally synced to all the iPads they'd given their friends and relatives as gifts. In Annie, Diaz plays the nasty Miss Hannigan, who makes Annie's life a hard-knock one.
