I only have time for a short review this week, but this was probably my favorite episode so far of Season 2. The central storyline, with Philip and his Mossad agent prisoner (very well played by Mark Simon) holed up together, was a great one, wonderfully capturing the interplay between two guys in the same, complicated line of work and the mind game going on between them, as they kind of/sort of bonded. Even the prisoner’s big escape attempt was capped off by him matter-of-factly saying, “Sorry, you know I had to try” - and Philip probably couldn’t argue with that.
Elizabeth had a lot to handle herself, from ending her fake relationship with poor Brad, to having to run over to Martha’s to stop her from naming “Clark” as her husband on her application. This was a very good scene, though I did find it a stretch that Martha would so quickly jump into sex stories with her husband’s sister. But the scene still worked for how damn uncomfortable it was, as Elizabeth had to hear about her husband, potentially, being more passionate with this other woman — “He just makes me his” -- and be reminded at the same time how invested Martha is in her sham marriage. There's many people getting hurt along the way, or setting themselves up to be hurt on this show…
