The teasers for this week's episode were a fake out. It seemed like Alice was going back to her home in England, but it was only a flashback. Seeing how Alice got pushed to the state she was in at the beginning of the season at the asylum was insightful and quite heartbreaking. We knew her father put her there, but the bigger picture explains some of Alice's personality traits like her stubbornness and tenacity. She just got away from a stifling environment.

I tried to put myself in her father's shoes to see his perspective on his daughter's ramblings and sudden return. Finding any sympathy was not easy, and the only conclusion is that he's a jerk and his new wife is cruel and manipulative. If he would have had one scene where he stood up to his wife, it would have been better. I'm not saying I'm pleased Jafar showed up on his doorstep, but if he’s going to make a house call...
