FF #14 Review

ff 14 You know the drill by now. Fantastic Four continues to suffer from the departure of writer Matt Fraction (and now artist Mark Bagley), but FF continues humming along as if nothing has changed. This series continues to boast a fun, playful tone and some of the best art from any Marvel book. Too bad there are only two issues remaining.


The series does suffer a bit from a slowing pace, as both this issue and the last dealt primarily with the build-up towards the big showdown with Doom. Still, this languid approach allows Mike and Lee Allred to both heighten the tension as the team prepare to confront their great nemesis, and also continue providing the same heartwarming scenes of play and team bonding that make FF such a delight in the first place. Doom the Annihilating Conqueror is all well and good, but I'm more entertained by the kids and their wacky moon antics.
