If Vin Diesel gets his way, Ang Lee (Life of Pi, Brokeback Mountain) may be in line to direct the star’s upcoming film version of Kojak.
When asked on Facebook which director he’d like to work in the near future, Diesel responded “Kojak… New York… Ang Lee.”

The original Kojak, a tough, honest NYPD detective (and lollipop enthusiast), was brought to life on TV by Telly Savalas in the 1970s. The series was rebooted briefly with Ving Rhames in 2005 but no big screen adaptation has been attempted until now. The Diesel version will be written by Skyfall scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
