Director James Foley, whose recent small screen credits include House of Cards and Hannibal, is in negotiations to direct a new movie based on the 1990 cult classic, Jacob’s Ladder. The project was announced earlier this year. In addition to his work on television, Foley is perhaps best known for directing the film version of David Mamet’s Glengarry Glen Ross.
Directed by Adrian Lyne, the original Jacob’s Ladder starred Tim Robbins as a troubled Vietnam vet whose increasingly vivid hallucinations lead him to dark and startling revelations. The new film, with a script by Jeff Buhler (The Midnight Meat Train), will not be a direct remake, sequel or prequel.
