Masters of Sex is back for more sultry, stifled, passive-agressive, sex study goodness. Though there isn't really an active study going on at the top of "Parallax," as both our lead characters (and some side ones as well) are still suffering the sting of Bill's failed presentation from back in the Season 1 finale.
But if one were looking for a study - an analysis of a topic from multiple sides and points of view - then the topic of investigation in the Season 2 premiere would be Bill and Virginia's relationship. Seen from both sides here as we revisited the night Bill visited Virginia's doorstep in the rain and professed his need for her. The two of them then made their affair "official" via sex outside of the usual laboratory sensors and Virginia, post-coitus, rejected Ethan over the phone. From there, as we discovered, the two of them began to routinely see each other for hotel sex using the pseudonyms of Mr. and Mrs. Dr. Francis Holden.
