Many great science fiction stories are predicated on the idea of machines or robots or some other artificial construct gaining consciousness and searching for proof of their own humanity. Father Robot seeks to follow in those footsteps, while also adding in a healthy dose of Avatar's alternate body scenario. The resulting combination is compelling enough to drive the series in its first issue. Whether this comic will make full use of its premise remains to be seen.
