DC is placing a lot of promotional weight on this new issue of Earth 2, seeing as how it provides the origin story of this world's new Superman, Val-Zod. The problem is that this might lead readers to believe issue #25 is a good jumping-on point. The truth is that this is part 5 of an ongoing story arc. Issue #25 is only partly concerned with fleshing out Val-Zod's history, as writer Tom Taylor is juggling a lot of other balls currently. But those who have been following the book lately will find plenty to enjoy as the heroes of Earth-2 make their stand.
