Sonic the Hedgehog is finally getting a movie -- in the form of a live-action/CG-animated hybrid.
Upright Citizens Brigade alumni Evan Susser and Van Robichaux are writing the screenplay for the Sonic film, which will be produced by Neal Moritz (the Fast & Furious franchise, 21 Jump Street). Sony Pictures Entertainment and Marza Animation Planet are teaming up to deliver the feature, based on the video game franchise that started on the SEGA Genesis back in 1991.
The screenwriters are currently writing the CBS series How to Grow Up, along with a feature film called Fist Fight, starring New Girl's Max Greenfield, and a live-action treatment of The Jetsons.
