Super Secret Crisis War #1 Review

Though the very idea sounds like the result of a night of binge drinking gone wrong, Super Secret Crisis War is a pretty darn good time. Featuring a venerable who's who of Cartoon Network talent, War proves a fun, all ages adventure that relies somewhat heavily on preexisting audience notions.

The premise of the book is as straight forward as they come, the malcontents of the CN's most famous characters teaming up to wreak havoc on their perspective foils. It works though -- there's something undeniably charming about seeing these famed characters come together, whether it's Aku and Vilgax jockeying for position or Ed, Edd and Eddy staring down a giant Powerpuff android. Writer Louise Simonson does a great job capturing the feel and tone of each respective property, each character speaking and acting in ways enjoyably familiar.
