Spectacular explosions. Slow-motion running. Hot women. And sometimes all three together. No one goes to a Michael Bay movie expecting a sensitive portrayal of humanity – they’re in it for the Bayhem, that trademark blend of IMAX-sized OTT edited together for maximum impact. With Transformers: Age Of Extinction about to set the Dinobots on cinemas, we thought we’d don the safety goggles for a recap of his biggest bits on film, with one advert thrown in for good measure.
The Egyptian finale contains enough daftness to fill this whole list – Shia Labeouf’s endless sliding over cars, Optimus getting pimped out into flymode, Devastator's huge swinging bollocks, Shia dying and talking to the metal gods, Prime turning The Fallen, Megatron and half of ancient Giza into rubble. Did we mention Devastator’s nards? But you can’t beat a good old fashioned slo-mo running from an explosion: in this case, it’s the biggest bang ever shot on film with actual live actors in it.
