There hasn't been a new Alien Legion story since 2004 but from reading Uncivil War #1, one wouldn't think so. Uncivil War #1 follows the civil war between the Hark Imperium and the Hark Warlords. A run of the mill peacekeeping mission ends up going astray and a new battle is started, sending the Legion into action.
This is an odd book. It feels as if this is continuing a much larger story. For anyone totally unfamiliar with Alien Legion, it's an almost impossible story to follow. There is barely any explanation for new readers to get involved in the story. For something like this, with a rich history behind it, it's a huge failure. The characters suffer from this as well. Aside from a very brief who's who page, there's nothing in the story to get you invested in them. There's a glossary at the end of the issue that seems to be an attempt to explain more about this universe but in all actuality, feels like doing homework. Readers aren't the ones who are supposed to do the legwork.
