Seeing Tales of Zestiria’s Fusionic Chain Linear Motion Battle System in action, the spectacle is almost too much to process. Sitting in the cavernous Yokohama Arena during the recent Tales of Festival, and watching the world’s first unveiling of the new system on a giant screen along with 10,500 fans, I wanted to call out to series producer Hideo Baba on the distant stage to hit the slow-mo button.
The Tales of games have always been lauded for their action-packed battle systems, tweaked only slightly from game to game to offer some of the most frantic and fun fights in any JRPG series. But the Fusionic Chain system is properly nuts.
