The war between Superman's army and the Green Lanterns intensifies in this issue, which collects chapters 11 and 12 of the digital series. The arrival of Hal Jordan and John Stewart only further complicates matters and threatens to divide loyalties. What impresses most in these two chapters is how writer Tom Taylor is able to present these characters as believable even as they further their descent into darkness. Hal is pretty much a full-on jerk by the events of the game, but here he's just a man torn between his Corps and his friends in the Justice League. Even Superman continues to show echoes of the great man he once was even as he brooks open war with the Guardians.
