I know three things about Toad: He's completely defenseless, he can pull up turnips really fast, and he loves treasure. The creators of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker somehow managed to make a fun game based on these quirks.
In the Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker demo at E3 2014, I played through three stages: A haunted mansion, a mine cart level with first-person shooter controls, and a boss level. Each level is a small cube-shaped micorcosm that can be rotated freely with one stick while you control Toad with the other stick. The direct Toad controls set this game apart from the similar Captain Toad treasure-hunting levels in Super Mario 3D World, which have Toad automatically walking through the levels.
