Doctor Who is one of the most prevalent science-fiction series of all-time, and all good sci-fi brings a bevy of memorable monsters. Whether they’re alien, supernatural, or scientific anomalies, Doctor Who has always thrived on the strength of its monsters.
With Doctor Who returning soon, we thought it was time to take a look back on the series’ most memorable creatures. One note: we’ve left The Master off this list, despite being The Doctor’s arch nemesis. We wanted to go with the most classic sense of the term “monster.”
