It’s a very cold night in Toronto -- though we’re told by many locals not nearly as freezing as it’s been at other points during a particularly harsh winter -- but that won’t stop the vampires that are tearing up a gas station. Certainly, despite the weather, it’s hard to suppress a “Ooooh!” watching as a monstrous-looking vampire ascends up a pole to a power generator and smash at it, causing it to explode.
It’s just another night on the set of The Strain, the new FX horror series from Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim) and Carlton Cuse (Lost), debuting this Sunday. Cuse is serving as showrunner, with del Toro directing the pilot, based on the book trilogy by del Toro and Chuck Hogan.
