When Tales of Hearts R and Tales of Innocence R launched on PlayStation Vita in Japan, western JRPG fans immediately started asking Bandai Namco when they could expect to get in on the action. But with Vita's soft sales not only in Japan, but in the west, it seemed increasingly unlikely that we would get our hands on a localized version of the game.
But then, the unlikely happened. Vita never became a sales powerhouse, but it did find a niche, and along with it a dedicated audience that bought tons of games, especially those hailing from Japan. And Tales of Xillia launched in the west and became a surprise hit, not only spawning the immediate localization of its sequel, but the western announcement and release of Tales of Symphonia Chronicles and the all-new upcoming Tales game, Tales of Zestiria.
