Dracula lives! And he’s angry…
Last October, Universal Pictures invited me to visit the set of Dracula Untold, the studio’s bid to revive the most famous of vampires. This is exciting, because Universal is of course the studio that gave us some of the greatest horror movies ever, and they are now getting back into the monster game.
Luke Evans (Fast & Furious 6, Immortals) stars as Prince Vlad, the man who will become Dracula. Yes, this is an origin story, one that looks to get to the center of how Drac became the infamous monster that we know (and, let’s face it, love) today. Gary Shore directs the film, which also stars Sarah Gadon as Vlad’s wife Mirena and Dominic Cooper as Mehmet, the Ottoman warlord who Dracula must face in battle.
