Five Must-See Films at FrightFest 2014

The UK’s premier horror film extravaganza – FrightFest – hits London at the end of August, and no self-respecting gore-hound will want to miss it. The majority of day and weekend passes have gone, but single tickets go on sale tomorrow (Saturday 19th).


Now you’ve probably heard of the bigger films playing, titles that include The Green Inferno, Wolf Creek 2 and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. But what of the smaller flicks that are premiering at the fest? To help you out, we’ve selected five of the best. But to be honest, with such a strong line-up in 2014, you really can’t go wrong.


Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens makes a bid for mainstream Hollywood stardom in this tense thriller about a stranger who enters the life of a grieving family, and wreaks terrible havoc. Made by the guys behind the brilliant You’re Next, it’s less horror, and more a throwback to 1980s action, but to be honest, the less you know about this one going in, the better.
