With this Original Sin tie-in, writers Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn are attempting to blend the typical wacky Deadpool story with the sort of darker, deeper conflict that made the series stand out so much during the "The God, The Bad, and the Ugly" storyline. Even as Wade teams up with disco-era Dazzler to fry some vampires, Agent Preston may have tracked down Wade's long-lost daughter. It's a bizarre combination that has worked well so far, though it comes apart at the seams somewhat in this issue. The vampire plot point is more or less abandoned towards the end of this issue, giving it the sense of an extended joke with no punchline.
