Fans are in agreement: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is a freakin' great movie. But what if it had ended differently?
Several weeks before the film's release, director Matt Reeves decided to change the ending of the movie. The production team had shot a completely different ending, but Reeves decided to go another way with it. So what was different about the original closing scene -- and why the change so close to release?
In a recent interview with /Film, Reeves explained, "What was different about the ending was that after the ending that you see in the final film, the idea was that the apes went out on a kind of exodus through the city, and they gathered on the Golden Gate Bridge in order to look into the distance for the approaching warships.
