NBC announced the first actor has been cast in their live musical version of Peter Pan, airing in December - and it's a pretty notable one, in the form of Christopher Walken as Captain Hook.
The announcement was made by NBC’s Chairman of Entertainment, Robert Greenblatt, at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour, who noted, “This might be the first tap-dancing Captain Hook you’ll ever see.” While Walken’s known for his memorable, eccentric film performances, he also has a background in musicals and has shown off his dancing skills -- including those aforementioned tap dancing abilities -- from time to time in music videos and films and also appeared in the film version of the Hairspray musical, which counted Craig Zadan and Neil Meron among its producers, who are doing Peter Pan.
