24: Live Another Day - "9:00 PM-10:00 PM" Review

A running theme this season has been people trying to make things right. It’s kind of what drives Jack to do all the crazy things he does, from getting himself locked up at the start of the day to Kate desperately hoping to make up for her perceived failures and even Margot’s twisted version of justice. Most everyone on 24 eventually finds themselves facing a situation where they feel must they fix some of what’s been broken. Sometimes things get fixed, but most of the time it just leads to bigger, badder problems.


Boudreau has done more than his share of shady/treasonous stuff this season, and he hit the ground running. Forging the president’s signature on the rendition order was the first domino as he kept digging his hole deeper in a hopeless attempt to cover it up. The wonderful thing, from a show standpoint, is that it always made sense. Boudreau was deeply insecure about Jack showing up, sure, but he also thought that Bauer was an extremely dangerous traitor and a direct threat to an ailing president. He absolutely should not have been doing these things, but it wasn’t all a personal vendetta (some, to be sure, but not all).
