Showtime has picked up its gothic horror series Penny Dreadful for a second season.
The news came today as the eight-episode first season reached its midway point this past Sunday with the fourth episode, "Demimonde."

Starring Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton and Eva Green, the series will go back into production in Dublin, Ireland for a 2015 launch.
If you're looking to catch up on the series, Showtime will air two Penny Dreadful marathons on Saturday, June 7th, before and after the 10pm television premiere of The Last Exorcism Part II. Episodes one through four of Penny Dreadful will air from 6pm to 10pm and then again from 11:30pm to 3:30am.
