The sequel to 2012's Snow White and the Huntsman is said to have a shortlist of potential directors, including Frank Darabont.
According to Deadline, there are three directors possibly being considered for the chair: Darabont, Andy Muschietti (Mama) and Gavin O'Connor (Warrior).
While Darabont primarily built his directorial career via Stephen King adaptations like The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and The Mist, he then had a notably successful and then tumultuous experience developing The Walking Dead TV series and serving as the original showrunner. Though his professional involvement with The Walking Dead ended in 2011, the director-producer has managed to stay in the news due to the nasty legal battle between Darabont and AMC over his firing and his allegations of unpaid contractual fees.
