Art Academy on Wii U, the working title for an upcoming game that teaches players the basics of drawing on Wii U GamePads, has received an unspecified October release date, according to a Nintendo press release.
A similar title, also titled Art Academy, released for the Nintendo DS in 2010. IGN said that the program had some good lessons for novice painters and drawers, but it also had the tendency to ingrain bad habits, and not many of the lessons went too deep. Art Academy on the Wii U will provide more "robust lessons," Nintendo said, by utilizing the console's GamePad.
