Anna Review

Anna, directed by Jorge Dorado, is impressively imaginative if not adeptly executed. This new suspense thriller champions a world not dissimilar from our own save for one stunning innovation: “Memory Detectives,” a controversial division of law enforcement that enters people’s memories in order to reconstruct crime scenes and traumatic events.


John (Mark Strong) is a Memory Detective working through a troubled past when his old boss Sebastian (Brian Cox) assigns him the case of Anna (Taissa Farmiga), a teenage girl that could either be a sociopathic killer or a victim. As John gets closer to the truth, his own past begins to haunt him, and the case becomes more complicated than expected.
