Pushmo, perhaps the first breakout hit on the 3DS eShop, finally comes to the Wii U with Pushmo World. Though a lack of substantial new ideas makes it feel more like version 1.5 instead of a true sequel, scaling the puzzle monoliths in Pushmo World is still equally challenging and fun. Plus, with a much more convenient way to share custom puzzles, there is no shortage of ways to make your brain hurt.
Pushmo World is all about scaling tall puzzles to rescue the trapped children within. (Has there ever been a more morbid premise for puzzle solving?) Pushing and pulling the blocks in each puzzle--or Pushmo, as they’re called--is simply executed, and it takes only a few minutes to become comfortable with changing the depth of pieces to create platforms. That said, fans of Crashmo will be disappointed to know that the ability to freely move pieces vertically and horizontally is nowhere to be found in Pushmo World.
