Gunship X, the top-down shooter previously release for iOS, is coming to PlayStation Vita later this year.
Developer Hidden Elephant's mobile game was inspired by the AC-130 mission in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Serban Porumbescu, one of Gunship X's creators, writes on the PlayStation Blog. But rather than fighting against foreign militants, Gunship X players will be defending allies against an alien invasion. Most of the game's missions only last five minutes, requiring quick-yet-careful planning before deciding where to attack first.
Gunship X will release on Vita with at least two aircraft –– the AC-17 and ubiquitous AC-130 –– but Hidden Elephant is hinting at a possible third, "secret" option. Players will be protecting four separate battlefields, comprising 30 total levels, as well as a survival mode.
