Da Vinci’s Demons was a great little surprise last year. The eight episode historical fantasy quickly came into its own during its inaugural season, introducing us to a memorable group of characters and an intriguing mythology and Season 2 continued to deliver the same consistent level of quality.
With the episode count expanded by two, a large ensemble of new characters introduced and trailers that teased exotic new locations it was clear early on that Season 2 was going to be a far more ambitious endeavor. In that respect it certainly succeeded.
The first couple of episodes of Season 2 played out more like an epilogue to the first season. The fallout from the Pazzi conspiracy was the focal point of the story while da Vinci worked his magic to save Florence.
