Steam Music Heading to Limited Beta 'Soon'

Valve's slow and steady march to the living room has a beat, with Gabe Newell et al's announcement that Steam Music will soon be in beta.

Valve provided few details about the actual player beyond noting the obvious: the ability to view and play albums and tracks and set up and manage a queue through Steam's interface.

"With Steam Music, you can now listen to your music collection while playing games," Valve stated in a brief post on the Steam Community forums. "Once you’ve pointed Steam to your local music directory, your Steam Library will include Album and Artist views of your collection."
