In an announcement that is sure to surprise nobody, DreamWorks has announced that its film adaptation of EA's Need for Speed franchise will be available in 3D upon its theatrical release March 14.
According to the official Need for Speed site, the Aaron Paul vehicle (pun very much intended) "chronicles a near-impossible cross-country race against time — one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption," and serves as "an exciting return to the great car-culture films of the 1960s and ‘70s, when authenticity brought a new level of intensity to the action."
Before switching to March, Need for Speed was originally scheduled to release this weekend against Sony's Robocop and Warner Brothers' The Lego Movie.
