Jason Aaron Sheds New Light on Original Sin

Marvel's May 2014 solicits came out today, but they were surprisingly quiet on all things pertaining to Original Sin, withholding cover images and merely repeating the phrase "What did he see?' for each issue description. Luckily, they quickly followed up the solicits with their latest "Next Big Thing" press call. Original Sin was the topic of the day. With Marvel's latest big event drawing closer, new details are beginning to emerge surrounding the conflict and the characters involved. Today, writer Jason Aaron, Executive Editor Tom Brevoort, and Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso were in attendance to talk all things Original Sin.


Aaron started off the call by discussing what sets the events of Original Sin in motion. "When the heroes find the Watcher's body on the moon, his eyes are gone. Nobody is initially sure what that means, but as scenes roll along, they start to realize that the Watcher's eyes are really the secret to unlocking everything he's witnessed over the years. Whoever holds one of those eyes is basically able to explode a bomb full of secrets and able to unleash all of these secrets of the Marvel Universe out into the wild through that eye."
