With the positive reception of The LEGO Movie, the continuing LEGO video game franchise, and fan-favorite franchises like Back to the Future, The Simpsons, and Ghostbusters finally getting LEGO-ized, it seems like 2014 is indeed the year of the LEGO.
65 years after their introduction, the building block toy that celebrates the infinite imagination of kids and adults alike are proving to be more popular than ever. With more and more fan fantasies coming to fruition as LEGO sets, we thought it’d be fun to take a look at some properties that we’d absolutely love to see on the shelves.
Probably the biggest no-brainer on our wish list, the Mushroom Kingdom is an obvious choice for a LEGO set. The world of the video games – particularly the original 8-bit incarnations – basically look like it was built by LEGOs anyway.
