Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow...
"Havre de Grace," while not lacking in surprising payoffs, didn't fully capitalize on the momentum and tension set up by last week's "White Horse Pike." So what we got was a rather unexpected dip right before the season finale - which seems like it's going to be all about the big meeting that Eli's orchestrating in order to appease Agent Tolliver. And while it looks like Nucky might be headed towards the slammer, he could still surprise us. He already doesn't share most of his thoughts and ideas with Eli so his whole "I want out" confession to Sally at the end could wind up being the spin that saves him.
For those of you anticipating a finale with a bloodbath, like last season's Harrow massacre, the meeting itself could turn into a bullet storm if Chalky returns home with his new country friends, having spent time in this episode hiding out with an old mentor named Oscar (guest star Louis Gossett Jr. playing it extra crusty as a man who's been made both clueless and perceptive in his old blind age). As it turns out, Chalky does blame Nucky for the assassination attempt and now thinks that a man he once called friend has betrayed him. I'm sure that Chalky, as far as priorities go, will be targeting Narcisse first and foremost, but Nucky could wind up in the crossfire. And so could Tolliver. Which would solve everyone's problems. Or Will. Which would also solve everyone's problems. And then give Eli a reason to take out Tolliver.
